Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred, or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire or evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
  • Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
  • Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
  • Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in the patient's physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff.
  • Test equipment for proper working order.
  • Reports equipment problems to the supervisor.
