Requirements
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred, or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire or evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.
Nice To Haves
- An Associate's degree is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in the patient's physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff.
- Test equipment for proper working order.
- Reports equipment problems to the supervisor.
