- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – current (AHA or Red Cross)
- Dysrhythmia Course – current

Responsibilities
- Perform continuous ECG monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
- Assess, identify, and respond to abnormal or life-threatening rhythms in real-time
- Initiate emergency codes or alerts in response to critical rhythm changes
- Manage and troubleshoot cardiac monitoring equipment safely and effectively
- Accurately document ECG readings, alarms, and relevant patient data
- Communicate patient status and monitoring results to nurses, physicians, and healthcare staff
- Enter orders into the system and retrieve lab results for charge nurse review
- Properly place electrodes for accurate ECG recordings across clinical settings
