About The Position

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Unit Sec/Telemetry Technician. The Nurse Assistant/Telemetry Technician is a member of the MercyOne Medical Center-Clinton’s healthcare team and performs clerical and receptionist duties under the direction and supervision of the Unit Director. Transcribes selected physician orders, performs order entry on the computer, schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients, assembles admission and discharge charts and maintains patient medical records, completes documentation for billing, answers telephone calls, provides routine approved information via telephone and in person and relays other calls and messages to appropriate staff. The Nurse Assistant/Telemetry Technician demonstrates professional behavior consistent with the mission of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center, the Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care and established policies and procedures. As a Telemetry Technician assumes responsibility for monitoring the telemetry readings of all patients in PCU and throughout the facility as ordered by physicians. Responsible for interpreting, reporting, recording and monitoring of patient’s cardiac rhythm. Utilizes critical thinking skills. Provides patient and family education. Ages served range from adult to geriatric.

Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Aide, verification of certification from the State of Iowa.
  • Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and/or 3 years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work concurrently on a variety of tasks in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to set and organize work priorities and adapt to changes.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
  • Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years' experience in a related field preferred.
