The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care using specialized clinical knowledge, judgment, and skills. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for individuals and patient populations based on established nursing standards and evidence-based practice. Care is delivered through a collaborative, team-based model that emphasizes partnership with patients and families. Nursing practice is culturally sensitive, age-appropriate, and aligned with professional ethical standards, including the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics and the applicable state Nurse Practice Act. Unit Description – Telemetry Stepdown (TELE SD) The Telemetry Stepdown Unit is a 28-bed cardiac medical unit specializing in the recovery and management of patients following vascular and electrophysiology procedures . The unit provides care to patients with: Acute myocardial infarction (MI) Cardiac arrhythmias Syncope Cardiomyopathy Heart failure This unit supports patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and advanced medical management, including: Titration of multiple intravenous medications Conscious sedation for cardioversion procedures All nurses on the unit are ACLS certified and trained in ECG interpretation . This environment is well-suited for nurses interested in developing critical care skills and transitioning toward an ICU setting.
