About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telemetry Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Telemetry Nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs and interpreting data from telemetry equipment to ensure patient safety and effective care. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and assisted living facilities, with a focus on geriatrics and dementia care.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' heart rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
  • Interpret telemetry data and report any significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing triage, and assisting with procedures such as suturing when necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, including health coaching techniques.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of practice.
  • Experience in telemetry nursing or related fields such as primary care, geriatrics, or assisted living is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with sonography principles is a plus.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Ability to perform triage effectively in high-pressure situations.
