About The Position

As a Monitor Technician you will deliver high quality, patient centered care to cardiac patients monitoring for age related arrhythmias and reporting results to the nursing staff. You will provide competent, continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation, safe and effective use of equipment. You will be a positive team participant on patient care units, have courteous interactions with visitors, patients, and medical staff and support unit and hospital philosophy, goals and objectives. You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure. You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures. You will perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.

Requirements

Six months or more of telemetry monitoring experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools: Telemetry monitoring system management, strong cardiac rhythm recognition, interpretation skills & communication skills strong desired.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
