About The Position

Position Summary: The Telemetry Monitor Technician monitors and accurately interprets cardiac rhythms of patients on telemetric equipment. Provides continuous observation and identifies basic arrhythmias. Provides prompt notification of changes/issues or dysrhythmia to the RN or Physician as they occur. Troubleshoots false alarms and system /equipment issues. Documents values and mounts rhythm strips according to unit standards. Also provides continuous observation of the patients who are being monitored during special procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year experience monitoring cardiac activity
  • Electrocardiography (ECG) Certification by time of hire
  • Availability to work weekends and rotating shifts, including evenings, nights and holidays
  • Basic Life Support
