Telemetry Monitor Technician (Full-Time / Days) Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Dallas 8200 Walnut Hill Ln., Dallas, TX 75231 Work hours: Full-Time, Days, 36 hours weekly, 7a-7p, including rotating weekends Telemetry Monitoring Department Highlights: Self-scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth, Fast-Paced, high-volume department Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Here’s What You Need High School Diploma or Equivalent required 1 year of telemetry monitoring experience strongly preferred Basic understanding/ability to learn medical terminology What You Will Do: Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment. Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately. Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification. Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care. Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission. Notifies patient’s primary RN promptly of any changes in patient’s monitor view. Communicates promptly of perceived risks specific to patient safety or immediate need for assistance to co-workers, nurses, and physicians/providers. Serves as a patient advocate. Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements. Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers, and all other disciplines.
