Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Operates, monitors, and maintains telemetry equipment, ensuring accurate rhythm interpretation and timely reporting of changes.
  • Communicates promptly with the primary RN and care team about abnormalities, safety concerns, or urgent patient needs.
  • Manages patient admissions/discharges in the monitoring system and prepares equipment for the next patient.
  • Completes required safety checks, quality controls, alarm settings, and equipment cleaning; reports malfunctions immediately.
  • Maintains organized documentation that meets hospital and regulatory standards while supporting patient advocacy.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct, teamwork, and effective communication with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Participates in ongoing skill development, supports team training, and adapts to departmental needs and assigned duties.
