About The Position

The Telemetry Monitor Technician maintains close continuous observation of the electrocardiograph patterns of patients. The monitor technician possesses a basic knowledge of dysrhythmias and utilizes effective communication with unit personnel and interdisciplinary team members. The staff member will record changes, actions and communication with the nursing staff as needed. The Telemetry Monitor Technician will be competent in the operation of the telemetry equipment and perform basic hands-on troubleshooting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must complete basic EKG course including a comprehensive written, oral and practical exam
- BLS - Basic Life Support
Responsibilities
- Maintains close continuous observation of the electrocardiograph patterns of patients
- Possesses a basic knowledge of dysrhythmias
- Utilizes effective communication with unit personnel and interdisciplinary team members
- Record changes, actions and communication with the nursing staff as needed
- Competent in the operation of the telemetry equipment
- Perform basic hands-on troubleshooting
