Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or trade school equivalent.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer-focused telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms.
  • Ensures the prompt and accurate delivery of care vital to patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Initiates code and rapid response teams for patients at risk of death or serious harm.
  • Collaborates with health care providers to initiate, monitor, and communicate findings during video monitoring.
  • Assists with delivery and maintenance of inventory, including inventory storage, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Establishes and maintains accuracy and proficiency in the analysis and interpretation of ECG rhythms.
  • Preserves records within the cardiac monitoring system for access by the treatment team.
  • Conducts ongoing surveillance of patient ECG rhythms and other vital signs.
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of patient conditions and communicates changes to RNs and clinicians.
  • Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns and current patterns.
  • Admits, transfers, and discharges patients and enters all required information in the telemetry monitoring system.
  • Observes assigned monitors continuously and responds to alarms promptly and appropriately.
  • Acts as preceptor and mentor to new monitor technicians.
  • Provides brief, focused education to nursing staff to promote an understanding of cardiac rhythms.
  • Initiates telemetry monitoring via delivery and attachment of telemetry monitoring equipment.
  • Maintains a shift call log documenting communications related to unresolved escalations of vital signs.
  • Maintains inventory, including storage, ordering, troubleshooting of faulty equipment, and disinfection procedures.
  • Assists in daily operations, contributing to an ongoing high level of customer satisfaction, safety, and experience.

Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $19.09/HR
  • Shift Differentials: Additional $0.70 per hour for the night shift and $1.00 per hour for weekends.
