About The Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Telemetry Field Engineer I-IV (Field-Based). Please note: This role requires up to 75% travel. What you will do: Perform factory testing, calibration, configuration, and safety verification to prepare systems for customer delivery. Commission and validate systems at customer sites, including on‑site testing, wireless communication surveys, and safety adjustments. Troubleshoot and resolve electro‑mechanical, electrical, software, and communication issues in factory and field environments. Support customer acceptance testing during factory testing and on‑site installation milestones. Develop technical documentation and deliver hands‑on training to operators and customer teams. Collaborate with engineering, project, and customer teams to ensure safe, reliable, and timely system deployment. Level I: Support senior field engineers with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation while building technical and field experience. Level IV: Serve as the on‑site technical lead, coordinating daily activities, mentoring junior engineers, and acting as the primary technical point of contact for the customer. What you will need: Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Associate’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience 7 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minimum 2 years of relevant experience 7 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree Level III: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minimum 3 years of relevant experience 10 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree Level III: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minimum 5 years of relevant experience 12 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot electro‑mechanical, electrical, and control systems in both factory and field environments.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and system documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Windows‑based systems, device configuration, and basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with system commissioning, testing, calibration, and validation activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical information and train end users.
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites while remaining collaborative, professional, and safety‑focused.
