Telemetry Charge Nurse
About The Position
We are seeking a Telemetry Charge Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Telemetry Unit Charge Nurse or Tele Charge RN. A Tele Charge Registered Nurse oversees nursing operations on our telemetry unit, coordinating staff assignments, managing patient care, and ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring is safely conducted. They serve as both a clinical expert and team leader, handling emergencies, facilitating communication, and supporting both patients and staff. Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Staff Coordination: assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload
- Unit Supervision: monitor overall operations of the telemetry unit during the shift, ensuring workflow efficiency and patient safety
- Direct Patient Care: provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments
- Telemetry Monitoring: interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identifies arrhythmias, and initiates appropriate interventions or escalations
- Problem-Solving: act as the go-to person for clinical issues, staff concerns, or resource shortages during the shift
