Virginia Mason Franciscan Health has a rich history of providing exceptional healthcare, dating back to 1891, and has expanded its reach across the Puget Sound area through strategic partnerships. The organization is committed to healing the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – and offers a full spectrum of health care services across a network of 10 hospitals and nearly 300 care sites. The Telemedicine-ICU RN role is responsible for providing consultative patient care nursing services through the centralized Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) Virtual Health Network. This network focuses on delivering virtual remote care to patients in intensive care units (ICU), other inpatient care units, and/or other CommonSpirit Health markets. Working from a centralized command center, the incumbent collaborates with the Tele-ICU team and an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers to achieve clinical objectives, maintain quality/customer service standards, and improve patient care outcomes. Nursing services extend to CommonSpirit markets in states outside Washington, requiring the procurement of current RN licensure in those states. The work adheres to VMFH-FH policies, regulatory requirements, and the nursing scope of practice, with a strong emphasis on patient safety. The role involves continuous interaction with physicians, patients, patient families, community agencies, patient care staff, and management. The incumbent is accountable for the quality of patient care, with authority to direct care, provide education, seek unit/department resources, and delegate tasks. The position requires applying judgment and critical thinking skills for patient care recommendations and decisions within the scope of practice, integrating available standards, resources, and data, and efficiently utilizing staff and resources.
