About The Position
The Telecommunicator position involves answering emergency calls at the Emergency Operations Center and dispatching appropriate response personnel to the scene of emergencies. The role requires working in challenging conditions, including hurricanes, and being on call. Employees work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and must be available to work on short notice. The 911 Center operates 24/7 and must be fully staffed at all times.
