About The Position

The Telecommunications Technician I is responsible for providing primary support for the Bank's voice equipment, software, hardware, and cabling. This role encompasses a variety of essential job functions, including installation, repair, performance monitoring, operational reliability, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems. The technician ensures that conferencing, telephone (cellular, digital, VoIP, and analog), and other related hardware and software products are readily available to users, thereby facilitating effective communication within the organization. In this position, the technician will answer telecom helpdesk troubleshooting and support calls, utilizing all available tools to resolve issues efficiently. The role also involves responding to field repairs, installations, and troubleshooting as needed. The technician will install, resolve issues, and make repairs to maintain, support, and configure telecommunications network equipment, which includes cabling, patch panels, and various systems such as centralized VOIP systems, cellular products, AV conferencing products, and data network routers and switches. Daily responsibilities include monitoring and managing telephone network equipment and software, assisting with the management of accurate inventory of all telecommunications equipment, and maintaining branch layout topologies and wiring plans. The technician will make recommendations on voice and data equipment purchases to Telecom leadership and assist with the initialization and tracking of new and replacement telephone equipment. Additionally, the technician will provide backup assistance for the IT help desk and computer network support functions as necessary, update software and hardware, and work on special projects as assigned. Maintaining good punctuality and attendance is crucial, along with adherence to Bank policies, procedures, and guidelines.
