Telecommunications Systems Administrator to fill the role of Technical or Systems Analyst ​Nebraska Public Power District is hiring! The Telecommunications Technical or Systems Analyst is responsible for the management, design, and support of the Telecom infrastructure management systems.  Responsibilities will include planning, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT & OT infrastructure monitoring/management software and associated hardware.

  • Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.
  • Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.
  • Technical Analyst:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (OR)  Associate degree and a minimum of three (3) years technical IT experience, including specific experience as listed below (OR) High school diploma/GED and a minimum of five (5) years technical IT experience, including specific experience as listed below.
  • Systems Analyst:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,IT, or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years technical IT experience as listed below (OR)  Associate degree and a minimum of six (6) years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of eight (8) years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District's computing environment.
  • Provide technical architecture recommendations and apply best practices in system design, development, and testing.
  • Collaborate with/advise/coach other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Evaluate, create, document, and test complex system-related interfaces and integration.
  • Maintains efficient and effective management of vendor contract service relationships pertaining to technical services.
  • Provide 24/7 system support, carry a mobile communications device, and perform duties from remote locations such as home and during business travel.
  • Lead special task groups, trouble-shooting efforts, and integration and/or improvement project teams.
  • Lead the development and implementation of training and communications plans/materials.
  • Accountable for other duties as assigned.
