About The Position

Griffin Health is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Specialist / Electrician to support and maintain critical communication and electrical systems throughout our facility. This dual-role position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems as well as performing licensed electrical work to ensure safe, reliable hospital operations that directly support patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant telecommunications and/or electrical experience.
  • Valid Connecticut E1 or E2 Electrical License required.
  • Ability to work in strained positions, climb ladders, and occasionally lift heavy equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, maintain, and repair telecommunications and communication systems, including paging systems, nurse call systems, televisions, alarms, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and schedule workload to meet facility and departmental needs.
  • Support installation and repair of both new and existing telecommunications equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with state and local electrical codes and hospital safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, circuits, lighting, and related infrastructure.
  • Install and maintain electrical components supporting clinical, telecommunications, and facility systems.
  • Coordinate electrical work with other departments and vendors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues as required to support hospital operations.
