About The Position

Patriot is seeking an experienced Telecom Lead Lineman / Aerial Foreman to join our growing aerial construction team. In this critical leadership role, you will lead up to a 4-person crew in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead fiber and coaxial lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerial broadband construction, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency on every job. Travel is required wherever projects require and employee may be deployed for up to 11 days at a time. Current projects are located in the Erie region and the greater Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, northeastern Maryland, and Vermont. An ideal candidate would reside within 1-2 hours of York, PA.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a lineman; 2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of aerial telecom construction practices
  • Proficiency with fiber optic and coaxial cable types, construction methods, and testing procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, HFC maps, and fiber schematics
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills
  • High degree of professionalism and interpersonal communication
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • Able to pass drug screening and physical exam as required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Able to climb ladders and poles up to 60 feet and work at heights
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and twisting for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including safety boots, glasses, hardhat, harnesses, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Mount, install, secure, and repair aerial telecom cables (fiber and coaxial)
  • Lead new plant construction, wreck out, de-lash, re-lash, and over lash operations
  • Ensure accurate placement and proper tensioning of cables to meet safety standards
  • Install and maintain support structures (poles, anchors, braces)
  • Direct a 3 or 4-person crew and provide training, mentoring, and oversight
  • Conduct job site safety assessments and enforce all OSHA, company, and industry safety regulations
  • Operate and maintain aerial lift devices, bucket trucks, and other related tools
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure all work meets company and client specifications
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to meet deadlines
  • Maintain thorough and accurate job records and reports
  • Support additional duties and projects as assigned by Patriot management
