About The Position

Piper Companies is looking for a Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance to join a leading telecommunications company to support telephony infrastructure and assist with the migration from legacy TDM systems to modern VoIP/SIP technologies. The ideal Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance will need to work on site in Norfolk, VA 5 days per week.

Requirements

5+ years of experience working as a Network or Telephony Engineer supporting enterprise-level telephony systems.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and have an active Secret Clearance
Familiarity with PBX environments, including provisioning and debugging features such as call waiting, call transfer, and IP feature configuration.
DoD 8140 compliant certification and CompTIA Security+ required.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain telephony infrastructure, including both legacy TDM and IP based VoIP/SIP systems.
Assist in the migration of TDM equipment to modern VoIP/SIP platforms.
Strong troubleshooting skills at the SIP protocol level and interpret SIP messaging.
Ensure PBX features are correctly implemented and functioning as intended
Participate in lab-based training and deployment activities to ensure readiness for customer-facing work.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions and system integrations.
