About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Telecommunications (ISP) to lead and scale our internet service provider operations with a focus on federal programs and government contracts . This role combines strategic leadership, network operations oversight, and regulatory compliance to support continued growth in the public sector. The ideal candidate has strong experience in ISP infrastructure, federal contracting, and telecom compliance , and can effectively bridge technical operations with business strategy. They will be a proactive leader with a proven track of record of scaling ISP operations, optimizing processes, and fostering an engaged team culture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in telecommunications or ISP operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with strong focus on talent development and succession planning
  • Experience supporting or working with federal telecom programs or agencies
  • Strong knowledge of ISP/network infrastructure (fiber, wireless, backbone, peering)
  • Experience with federal contracting, compliance, and audits
  • Understanding of FCC regulations and telecom industry standards

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Federal compliance programs
  • Knowledge of BICSI, FARS/DFARS
  • PMP/BICSI certification desired
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business Management, or related field.
  • Active or prior security clearance
  • Experience working with utilities or municipalities

Responsibilities

  • Lead ISP operations including network infrastructure and service delivery
  • Develop and execute growth strategies focused on federal and public sector opportunities
  • Oversee delivery of services under federal contracts (e.g., GSA, DoD, FCC programs)
  • Lead complex network deployment projects, from planning through execution.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Partner with business development on RFPs, proposals, and contract support
  • Drive operational performance, scalability, and reliability (uptime, latency, SLAs)
  • Build and lead high-performing technical and operational teams
  • Serve as a key point of contact for federal stakeholders and partners
  • Lead telecommunications infrastructure deployment including fiber network buildouts, ISP, outside plant (OSP), and service activation
  • Lead of a team of 10+ employees
