This vacancy is for a GS-0391-12, Telecommunication Specialist, GS-0391-12 located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION-C5ISC SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT SECTION-JUNEAU AK. As a Telecommunication Specialist, you will be responsible for resolving issues involving conflicting telecommunications requirements. Typical work assignments include managing and providing administrative, information resource management (IRM), and technical support to the Coast Guard's HQ, Atlantic, and Pacific Areas for the frequency management program. You will oversee the day-to-day work of the regional spectrum managers and provide management and direction to ensure accuracy and compliance of their spectrum assignments and frequency planning work. Additionally, you will serve as a technical staff manager supporting the use of radio frequencies for law enforcement, command and control, radio navigation, and distress and safety purposes. You will also manage the Emergency Readiness Program for the use of the radio spectrum during national emergencies, respond to problems or inquiries initiated by other users of the frequency spectrum, and manage the procurement and distribution of data material of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) maritime services publications for the Coast Guard.
