About The Position

The Telecom Field Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of various telecommunications equipment and systems. This role requires a basic to intermediate understanding of telecommunications technologies and involves working under supervision to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. The technician will also be expected to respond to emergency callouts and maintain accurate records of work performed.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent 2-year technical degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or related field; or military training/experience; or high school diploma with 2 years of related work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of technical work experience in telecommunications or related field.
• Knowledge of basic level technical support skills equivalent to a Telecom Field Technician Associate.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic to intermediate level installation and acceptance testing of telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and system testing, maintenance, and repair of electronic and optical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, drawings, and other data required for all work performed.
• Inspect and maintain test equipment, tools, and safety/protective equipment in good working order.
• Read, understand, and update electronic and electrical prints, diagrams, and asset records related to telecom equipment.
• Operate tools and other equipment necessary to perform job duties.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and operating regulations, including NERC CIP compliance.
• Respond to emergency callouts as required.
• Complete all assigned training and achieve a working knowledge of assigned technologies.
