About The Position

Alamon, Inc., a Montana-based employee-owned company since 1975, provides installation services to the utilities, energy, and communications industries nationwide. There is no ceiling when it comes to your professional growth at Alamon, an employee-owned company. Alamon, Inc. seeks a Telecom Field Technician 3 for its Network Services department. This position entails: testing telecommunications equipment, including routers, ROADMs, and DC power systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for NEAT/NAT testing and barcoding while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Telecom Field Technician 3 must have extensive experience working in Central Offices, MSOs, and Data Centers. This position requires extensive travel. Compensation is based on experience.

Requirements

  • Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
  • Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.

Nice To Haves

  • ROADM installation experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Travel extensively to customer sites for equipment installation, barcoding, and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with Telcordia GR-1275, Lumen 77350/77385, AT&T TP-76300/TP-76400, and Verizon IP72202 ISS 5-1 Core Standards.
  • Read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, MOPs, and other technical documentation.
  • Perform onsite equipment barcoding using client-provided tools, including RTS software.
  • Conduct NEAT (Network Element Acceptance Testing) and NAT (Network Address Translation) Testing.
  • Configure and test telecommunications equipment using CLI & GUI interfaces.
  • Perform optical testing for light levels, continuity, and insertion loss.
  • Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and adhere to Alamon's strict safety policies.
  • Provide training and mentorship for Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, supervisors, project managers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Ensure timely submission of daily progress updates to the Project Manager/Supervisor.
  • Adhere to scheduled site visits and complete assignments within deadlines.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.
