About The Position

Teen Trip Camp, in Goffstown, NH, is seeking Counselors for the summer 2026 season! If you are looking for a fulfilling summer job where you can build your leadership skills, have a meaningful impact on others, and enjoy your summer playing games, traveling, and having fun with a supportive team – this is the opportunity for YOU! Our camp is a trip-based camp that serves youth ages 12-16 while coaching campers to build relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun and acting as positive role models. We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y.

Requirements

  • At least 19 years old
  • Must be willing and able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certifications, or currently hold
  • Must be available to attend camp trainings before and during camp season
  • Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work
  • Experience working or volunteering with youth in a recreation, or similar setting, preferred
  • Previous experience being a camp counselor (minimum 2 years), preferred
  • Preferred currently holds lifeguard certification; or willing and able to obtain
  • Camp season runs 06/22/2026 through 08/28/2026 and must be able to work most of the camp weeks
  • Pay range $15.30 - $16.30 depending upon experience (40 hours/wk)

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Build positive nurturing relationships with campers
  • Build cooperative relationships with coworkers, supervisors and parents
  • Help support Director, Unit Leader and fellow counselors in behavior management and activities during daily trips
  • Engage with campers in a way that fosters Character building
  • Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage
