About The Position

The Teen Librarian at Plain Community Library is responsible for providing exemplary library services to teens, educators, and community members. This role involves leading the Teen Advisory Board, executing teen programs, managing the teen collection, and conducting outreach with GlenOak High School. The librarian will also perform circulation duties and provide readers' advisory services, ensuring a vibrant and engaging library environment for young patrons.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) required.
• 3 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of collection materials related to teens is required.
• Experience working with teens and presenting programs is required.
• Experience with library circulation systems and procedures is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing programs for individuals and groups is preferred.
• Experience coordinating with external partners is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Teen Advisory Board and execute teen programs.
• Monitor and manage the teen collection.
• Provide readers' advisory and business services to patrons.
• Conduct outreach with GlenOak High School students and teachers, including research instruction.
• Assist patrons with library services and collection platforms.
• Perform circulation duties and manage patron accounts.
• Plan and present internal and external programs for teens.
• Establish partnerships with outside agencies for joint services.
• Mentor and train other staff members in library services and programs.
