Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth is seeking a dedicated Teen Coordinator - Youth Development Professional to join our after-school program. This part-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about youth development and eager to make a positive impact on the lives of teens in grades 9-12. The Teen Coordinator will play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive environment that aligns with our Formula for Impact plan and other key youth development strategies. The successful candidate will assist in planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating activities within our Teen Room, ensuring that all programs facilitate the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. The Teen Coordinator will work closely with the Club Director and program staff to identify, develop, and implement additional club-wide programs designed to produce desired outcomes, including social and emotional learning. This role requires the ability to motivate youth, manage behavioral issues in a supportive manner, and serve as a positive role model. The position also involves maintaining close daily contact with club staff, volunteers, and club members, as well as engaging with external community groups and parents to promote the success of the club and organization. The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM during the school year and 11 AM to 5 PM during the summer. The pay for this role starts at $15 per hour, and candidates with teaching or classroom experience, as well as Spanish speakers, will be given preference. All candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to successfully complete all criminal/reference background checks.
