About The Position

Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures. This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative, is an effective written and oral communicator, is reliable and safety-minded and works well with teens.

Requirements

Must be a minimum of 17 years of age.
Must be a high school graduate.
Have previous experience with face-to-face program delivery.
Have an understanding of teens’ developmental skills and abilities.
Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Maintain DCFS Mandated Reporter certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Effectively communicate orally
Work cooperatively with outside organizations (trip locations, transportation company, etc.)
Take initiative to develop stimulating activities for teens.
Directly supervise all scheduled activities.
Formulate calendars for weekly periods.
Develop and implement daily plans.
Lead instructional programs.
Manage large and small groups of teens
Monitor and request supplies as needed
Perform First Aid and CPR as necessary.
Identify unsafe or unacceptable situations and follow all safety procedures that pertain to duties involved.
