About The Position

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting a full-time, 12-Month Technology Support Specialist with full benefits. This provisional position is at the Central Administration Office and is considered a Non-Unit position. This position involves tackling the technological hurdles associated with the creation and management of computer account IDs for over 10,000 users. You'll be at the forefront of leveraging technology to streamline processes and automate tasks. Moreover, you'll play a crucial role in problem identification, documentation, and collaborative problem-solving with fellow team members. Given the escalating threat of cyberattacks, the role demands vigilant monitoring and management of accounts, alongside meticulous documentation to uphold the principle of least privilege. Typical work may include but is not limited to the following: Act as a technical resource for a school district on general administrative matters or for a special project; Prepares procedures for all technology equipment, software and supplies to be sure they are properly cared for, repaired and inventoried; Coordinates computer automation functions in an office, including the establishment of guidelines, training in the use of software, troubleshooting for recurring problems and maintaining system security access.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or closely related field and one (1) year of office work experience which primarily involved the management of information and included word processing, database management, and contact with others.
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time work experience in Information Technology, or closely related field which included one (1) year office work experience as described in (A).
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Information Technology, or closely related field, and three (3) years of full-time office work experience as described in (A).
  • An equivalent combination of the training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
