About The Position

The Technology Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless technology experiences for administrative and counseling staff across the organization. This includes supporting computers, mobile devices, phones, and other technological systems critical to our work. At Options Counseling and Family Services, the IT department is rooted in excellent customer service. We view our clinical providers and administrative staff as our clients, and we work as a team to share workloads, solve problems, and anticipate needs. Our approach is both proactive—through system management and maintenance—and responsive, with timely, positive support for day-to-day issues. Although this role does not typically provide direct services to clients, it is a key contributor to the overall mission of improving client well-being. Professionalism, punctuality, and a respectful, solutions-oriented attitude are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and familiarity with multiple internet browsers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft cloud-based management, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Zoom.
  • Experience configuring Android and Apple devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach and ability to deliver timely workarounds.
  • Successful completion of a DHS background check (including fingerprinting) is required.
  • Commitment to inclusivity, respect, and unbiased support of colleagues, clients, and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL/database reporting, including Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Flows, and WordPress website maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified, or equivalent) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, respectful, and professional technical assistance to staff.
  • Prepare, configure, and redistribute computers, cell phones, and office phones.
  • Monitor and respond to IT support requests using the ticketing system.
  • Identify and respond to potential virus or malware threats.
  • Provide staff training on hardware, software, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computers, phones, and mobile devices.
  • Maintain network systems, including switches, Wi-Fi hotspots, routers, and firewalls.
  • Create and maintain user training guides.
  • Install Ethernet wiring and create Ethernet cables as needed.
  • Support presentations with technology setup and troubleshooting.
  • Use SharePoint in Office 365 to create and deploy forms and documents to the intranet.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to implement proactive system improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
