About The Position

The Technology Support Specialist at Fairfax County Public Schools is responsible for providing comprehensive information technology consulting, planning, support, and services to assigned organizational units. This role serves as the primary technology leader within the school or program, managing local networks, servers, and associated technologies. The specialist will also plan, manage, and support the configuration, deployment, and integration of all school/program technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of experience in computer technology and applications.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
• Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of applicable computer technology.
• Ability to quickly learn instructional technology requirements.
• Knowledge of standard microcomputer operating systems and software used in a network environment.
• Proficiency in three or more microcomputer and network operating systems, and standard desktop, mobile, and communications applications.

• Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
