About The Position

The Technology Support Specialist II is responsible for providing technical support within the district while also leading a team of Technology Support Specialists. This role involves troubleshooting complex software and hardware issues, managing IT service requests, and ensuring effective communication with diverse customers and technical personnel. The position requires a balance of independent work and collaboration, with a focus on maintaining high standards of service and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related degree, or five years of experience and A+ certification.
  • Five years' experience supporting Microsoft Windows and PC hardware.
  • Current CompTIA A+ certification.
  • Advanced knowledge in providing technical assistance for software applications and network connections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information swiftly, diagnosing and resolving complex issues promptly.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication abilities, fostering positive relationships with diverse customers and technical support personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with remote access tools and software support.
  • Knowledge of network communications and configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and delegate work to level 1 Technology Support Specialists.
  • Document, install, maintain, and repair computer systems and related peripherals.
  • Review and prioritize work orders according to established standards.
  • Travel to worksites to provide onsite response to support calls as necessary.
  • Liaise with third-party support of various technology vendors.
  • Act as team lead on special projects.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex software and hardware problems in a network or standalone environment.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and provide recommendations on configuration changes and/or upgrades of hardware or software.
  • Manage an internal technology tool suite including laptops, mobile devices, and remote management applications.
  • Maintain documentation, activity logs, and records related to assigned duties.
  • Manage and resolve IT service requests across a wide spectrum of IT-related concerns.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions.
