About The Position

YORK PREPARATORY ACADEMY South Carolina Public Charter School District TITLE: TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST II POSITION TYPE: Exempt AGREEMENT TERMS: Year Round Position SALARY/RATE: $45,000 - $55,000 REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Essential Responsibilities: Provide phone, remote and on-site support as needed at multiple locations. Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of district hardware and software according to IT procedures. Maintain inventory and repairs of 1:1 Chromebook program. Develop skill and knowledge level for the purpose of moving to a higher level of network support. Assesses malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations. Diagnose network and infrastructure problems (e.g. VLAN, routing, and TCP/IP issues) for the purpose of maintaining district computer operations. Install computer hardware, peripherals, network equipment and software for the purpose of maintaining safe and effective site operations. Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. inventory control, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or sharing information. Transports a variety of items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at the job site or transporting equipment for repair. Upgrades computers, peripherals, network equipment and software applications (e.g. installation, testing, configuration, etc.) Accumulate IT parts, supplies and materials for the purpose of establishing an inventory of items commonly required to repair computer hardware. May be required to support personnel outside of the IT department in the completion of their work activities. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the IT Director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and at least one year of IT experience.
  • Computer maintenance and repair experience.
  • Excellent problem solving, organization, time management and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid drivers’ license and a personal vehicle required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or related degree preferred.
  • EdTech experience is a plus.
  • Network experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with a team or be self-directed.
