Ericsson's Americas Strategy and Technology Team is now adding top talent with distinctive track records in strategic problem-solving and executive-level program leadership. We are developing new technology strategies, working on complex strategic tasks and leading some of our key strategic questions. We are seeking an experienced, talented leader to join our dynamic team as Technology Strategy Manager, based in Plano, Texas. This role will lead US Government (USG) engagement strategy across internal and external stakeholders, translating technology potential into actionable strategies and policy-aligned initiatives that advance Ericsson's position and the long-term network vision in the Americas.

Requirements

  • Education: BS in Engineering (IT, Telecom, Computer Science); MS/MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in ICT with strong exposure to product and strategy management; proven success in consulting engagements
  • Telecom expertise: Solid understanding of spectrum holdings, RAN and Core, IT systems, and broader network architecture; expertise in either RAN or Core/IT domains.
  • AI fluency: Solid understanding of AI and its applications and impact across business, technology, and society, including telco automation and assurance use cases.
  • Strategy and business acumen: Systemic, critical, and strategic thinking; strong financial acumen with the ability to turn analytics and insights into actionable strategies and executive proposals.
  • Program leadership: Results-oriented planning, execution, and project management across enterprise, line of business, and market area contexts; end-to-end leadership from problem framing to executive communication and implementation planning.
  • Economics and policy awareness: Familiarity with telecom economics (cost drivers, investment planning) and regulatory considerations across North America and LATAM; ability to align strategies with public sector programs and policies.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication in English;
  • Stakeholder trust: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust with internal and external stakeholders; comfortable with ambiguous contexts and C-level exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Own USG engagement strategy: Establish and manage a structured operating rhythm with key internal & external stakeholders including agenda setting, briefing materials, executive alignment, and follow-through on action items.
  • Drive strategic priorities and adoption across 5G/6G evolution, Open RAN, AI/ML, intent-based programmability, and network automation—shaping Ericsson's technology position in Americas
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging trends (industry, geopolitical, regulatory, and technology) and translate insights into strategies, narratives, and recommendations for senior leadership decision-making.
  • Translate cutting-edge advancements into actionable network strategies tailored to USG objectives, grant programs and policy priorities.
  • Plan and execute quarterly strategic topics: Lead project planning, tracking, risk/issue management, and outcomes for key technology topics and executive forums; prepare quarterly reviews and comprehensive strategic planning documents.
  • Partner across BAs and GF to align regional insights with long-term priorities; coordinate with Strategy, R&D, Product, Sales, Delivery, and Marketing to ensure coherence and impact.
  • Produce thought leadership with SMEs, customers, and marketing teams (whitepapers, keynotes, public comments, and high-profile industry forum contributions)

  • Your Pay The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience. Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan : Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Your Time Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
