GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking two Technology Specialists to join our team. These positions will be fully onsite at the Central Greene School District in Waynesburg, PA. As a Technology Specialist you will be responsible for delivering hands-on technical support and exemplary customer service as the first line of IT assistance for Central Greene School District. You will work onsite as part of a two-person team responsible for supporting and maintaining the district's technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, devices, and applications. In addition to technical aptitude, strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor are essential, as you will work directly with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all onsite technical support needs across the district.
  • Support and troubleshoot server, network, wireless, phone, and cloud infrastructure systems.
  • Manage and maintain user accounts, file and folder permissions, and domain administration.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and related software.
  • Provide printer support, including hardware malfunctions, jam resolution, driver issues, and networking.
  • Configure security settings, email accounts, and encryption protocols on all supported devices.
  • Respond to and remediate backup system failures and internet security threats.
  • Assist with application and email system troubleshooting, including third-party vendor coordination.
  • Participate in monthly vulnerability scanning and proactive monitoring activities.
  • Document IT inventory, network architecture, and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
  • Attend and support school board meetings and be available during standard school operating hours.
  • 2+ years of IT support experience in a school or enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows-based operating systems, network connectivity, and hardware issues.
  • Experience supporting desktop/laptop imaging, configuration, and deployment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to engage with non-technical users effectively.
  • Ability to work independently onsite and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of Active Directory and user account administration.
  • Familiarity with managing and troubleshooting printers and peripheral devices.
  • Must pass required background checks, clearances, and Act 168 disclosure.
  • 3+ years of progressive IT support experience, ideally in K-12 or public sector environments.
  • Experience with Cisco or other enterprise-grade networking systems (firewalls, switches, WAPs).
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for Education administration.
  • Experience working with mobile device management (MDM) systems.
  • Knowledge of backup systems and antivirus/endpoint protection solutions.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with limited oversight.
