About The Position
This position is a part-time, grant funded position in the Office of Accommodative Services. The Technology Specialist is responsible for providing technology solutions for students with disabilities and accessibility of print materials, including screen readers, voice recognition, screen magnification and/or closed captioning software. A key function of this role is researching, problem solving, implementing and maintaining solutions to ensure students with disabilities have access to DCC's website, learning management system and course materials. The Technology Specialist provides training to student employees recruited to assist with delivery of services. In addition, the Technology Specialist participates in DCC's digital accessibility initiatives by conducting accessibility checks, remediating inaccessible documents and providing resources for professional development of campus community. The position plays a role in promoting accessibility awareness through networking, training, and collaboration with others in the campus community.
