About The Position

The Technology Solutions Expert (TSE) is responsible for driving revenue growth and delivering technical support for Komatsu Intelligent Machine Control (IMC), Komatsu Digital Solutions, and Topcon aftermarket products. This role blends sales support, customer-facing technical expertise, and billable service execution to ensure successful adoption, performance, and long- term customer value within PMC’s area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment, machine control systems, or related technical field
  • Strong working knowledge of GPS, surveying equipment, telematics, and machine control systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with basic hydraulic troubleshooting skills
  • Intermediate electrical troubleshooting and repair knowledge
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Significant travel required (up to 70%)
  • Structured, detail-oriented approach with a strong technical focus

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and revenue-generating opportunities related to IMC, Smart Construction, and aftermarket machine control solutions.
  • Support the sales team through product demonstrations, job-site assessments, and solution recommendations.
  • Conduct machine evaluations and jobsite reviews to determine best-fit technology solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and machine control decision-makers.
  • Prioritize and respond to customer requests based on urgency and business impact.
  • Register products with Topcon and support Komatsu digital solution deployments.
  • Perform billable services including jobsite GPS localizations, troubleshooting, data conversions, drone topographic surveys, and machine calibrations.
  • Provide startup support, troubleshooting, design, setup, and customer training for sold and rental applications.
  • Execute initial complementary and advanced customer training as required.
  • Serve as the technical lead for IMC machines within the territory.
  • Perform PDI inspections and calibrations on all sold and rented Intelligent Machines.
  • Install IMC components and aftermarket machine control systems on internal and customer machines.
  • Support service departments with IMC, machine control, and advanced technical issues.
  • Ensure all machine calibrations are current prior to customer delivery.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of customer activity and solution deployments.
  • Provide Smart Construction leadership and sales management insight on competitive products and market trends.
  • Assist in developing internal initiatives and customer-facing solutions based on market feedback.
  • Attend manufacturer training sessions as scheduled.
  • Provide internal training to sales, service, and operations teams.
  • Develop and execute customer training platforms for IMC and Smart Construction solutions.
