About The Position

The Technology Site Technician provides on-site technical support to staff and students, ensuring the effective use of technology in the classroom and school environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and other technology related systems, assisting with device deployment, supporting student testing, and providing basic training to end-users.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of related technology experience.
  • Any combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in K-12 public education or a related educational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support for Chromebooks, desktops, laptop, iPads, printers, interactive flat panel tv’s, accessories, and other technology devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, network connectivity and other technology related issues.
  • Perform password resets and user account management in Active Directory and Google Workspace.
  • Assist with deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining student and staff devices using tools such as but not limited to Google Admin, SCCM, JAMF and Incident IQ.
  • Install, update, and configure educational applications and other school related software programs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user account issues in various learning software platforms.
  • Repair damaged Chromebooks and notify the office staff of the amount of fine per the district fine schedule including determining the depreciated value of a device if unrepairable.
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory and tracking of technology resources using the provided software systems.
  • Prepare and configure student devices for standardized testing, ensuring software and security settings meet district and state requirements.
  • Provide on-site technical support during testing periods to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
  • Coordinate with school administrators and district IT staff to ensure a smooth testing process.
  • Assist with proctoring state tests including but not limited to STAR, WIDA, AAPPL, RISE, Utah Aspire Plus, as needed by the school.
  • Provide basic technology training to staff and students on software and hardware use.
  • Instruct all students on proper care of their school issued Chromebook, accessories, and charger.
  • Assist teachers in integrating technology hardware and software into the classroom learning environment.
  • Attend District and Technology Professional Development trainings.
  • Create and track open or pending tickets and escalate them if unresolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide clarification and assistance if requested.
  • Create and maintain documentation for common technical procedures and troubleshooting steps.
  • Work closely with district IT staff to resolve technical issues, clarify processes and follow technology policies.
  • Communicate effectively with school administrators, staff, and students regarding technology needs and solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technology supplies, parts, hardware repairs and warranty claims as necessary.
  • Assign Chromebooks to students and move them from grade to grade each year.
  • Manage, arrange and support chromebook carts for charging and organization of chromebooks.
  • Assist in setup, configuration and training staff on testing platforms and procedures.
  • Assist with creating and preparing testing schedules as directed by the school Administrator.
  • Setup, deploy software, and image Computers in Labs.
  • Issue loaner Chromebooks and chargers to students and check them in and inspect for damage when returned.
  • Work with school administration to disable student devices and accounts as necessary.
  • Disable Chromebooks when students fail to return them when leaving the district.
