About The Position

The position involves performing troubleshooting and inspections of customer equipment, as well as removing, repairing, and/or replacing components and parts on machines and electrical systems. The candidate will follow company standards for work quality, safety, and cleanliness, and will be responsible for preparing and submitting service reports within established timeframes. The role requires working with customers and supervisory staff to maintain workflow and meet production requirements. Additionally, the candidate must read and interpret parts books, service manuals, and electrical system schematics, and provide written estimates to customers for installation and repair of technology equipment. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and utilize critical thinking skills to effectively solve problems and provide solutions is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and systems
  • Familiarity with light and heavy equipment
  • High degree of demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of tools and equipment
  • Verbal and written communication skills including reading and writing
  • Basic math computation skills
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of GPS systems and IP address architecture schemes

Nice To Haves

  • CAT product specific training preferred
  • Knowledge of mining production processes, GPS, Radio, and networking
  • Background in electronics, information technology, and computer science

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and inspections of customer equipment
  • Remove, repair and/or replace components and parts on machines and electrical systems
  • Follow company standards for work quality, safety, and cleanliness
  • Prepare and submit service reports in established timeframes
  • Work with customers and supervisory staff to maintain workflow and meet production requirements
  • Read and interpret parts books, service manuals, and electrical system schematics
  • Provide written estimates to customers for installation and repair of technology equipment
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to effectively solve problems and provide solutions
  • Operate industrial equipment to ensure proper operation following service and/or repair
  • Maintain accurate DOT driving records using electronic systems and/or paper documentation
  • Review data from the troubleshooting and inspection process to work up detailed, accurate, and cost-effective job estimates
  • Process detailed and accurate parts orders
  • Operate mining and construction equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
