Overview: The Technology Risk team for the Fidelity Asset Management business unit within Enterprise Technology Risk & Analytics (ETRA) group is seeking a passionate, driven, and experienced professional to join the team! You will help enhance and manage the core program activities, which include refining and executing the technology risk strategy and program, and working with Technology, Operations, Legal Risk and Compliance teams to holistically manage technology risk of product initiatives within the Fidelity Asset Management business unit. In this position, you will focus on the oversight of key risks, threats, controls, and other critical technology risk management functions supporting the Asset Management business units. Active collaboration with product and technology teams to obtain a deep understanding of Asset Management product risks and controls will be central to the role. You will report to the Technology Risk Director in Enterprise Technology Risk. The Enterprise Technology Risk team oversees the management of controls, and the mitigation of risk related to the technology environment, systems, and processes across the enterprise. Technology Risk is part of the broader Legal, Risk and Compliance group and partners with Corporate Audit, Enterprise Compliance, and Security to protect the interests of our customers, our employees, and Fidelity’s brand. You will also work closely with other ETRA Risk teams and Centers of Excellence as well as Fidelity technology and business owners, Operational Risk teams, and Fidelity external auditors and regulators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent major preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in technology risk or building and shipping technology-related products.
  • Strong knowledge of Technology Risk Management practices and approaches is a key prerequisite – including familiarity with best practices related to process/risk/control framework implementation, risk assessments, incident management, change management, and control validation and testing strategies.
  • Understanding Asset Management products and services, including, but not limited to:
  • Mutual Fund Portfolio Management
  • Equity and Bond Trading
  • Financial Research
  • Digital Assets
  • Advisor Funds
  • Partner with business, product, operations, engineering, legal, and risk teams (including AML) to advise on compliance implications of new initiatives, product launches, and regulatory developments.
  • Conduct technology risk assessments and compliance analyses across Asset Management businesses.
  • Strategic thinker with high attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence across functions.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present to senior management.
  • Demonstrated technical abilities in multiple areas (e.g., technology infrastructure and application controls, cyber security, access management, network and cloud, resiliency, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional technology risk certifications (CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM) and/or Cloud Certification(s) (CCSP, CCSK, AWS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • You will act as a consultant and provide guidance on information technology controls design, effectiveness, management and monitoring for new and existing start-ups and incubator programs using emerging technology, including AI.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and IT risk program support
  • Assessing the various information technology risks that the business faces in its operations and support the implementation of action plans, policy and procedural changes for risk avoidance and mitigation
  • Support in depth information technology risk assessments including identifying and documenting controls, creating detailed process flows, identifying potential gaps and/or inconsistencies and making sound recommendations for improvement and/or mitigation
  • Understand and consult on information security standards and industry best practices
  • Answer questions from internal and external Audit on information technology controls
  • Track action steps and ensure that findings are remediated appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Conduct readiness reviews over large information technology development projects ensuring strong risk management
