PRIMARY FUNCTION: Focus on Technology Business Development, coordinate and execute all training and support sessions for customer base. This position will assist in the delivery, training, and implementation of all SITECH’s and/or Gregory Poole’s Technolgoy Solutions for products sold through SITECH or Gregory Poole Sales Reps. Ensure and maintain gross profit margins on service bids/projects through timely and accurate completion of project management activities ensuring all jobs are performed to project specifications and meet the require NFPA70 and 110 codes from the GPPS perspective (for work we perform). Assist in development and selling of our Cat and Trimble business with our Account Managers in the field including a focus on Cat Safety Technologies, Cat Autonomy and Command Systems, and other allied technologies as appropriate. Assist the GP Sales Account Managers when coordinating jobs that have both SITECH and GP Service included in the Project. This would include assisting with planning, coordination, and at times managing and assisting with project engineering for the jobs. Provides individualized technical information/support to the GP Service, Sales and Rental Associates, SITECH Associates, in addition to site contractors via in person or through telephone or electronic communications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: A. Service Staff Support Provides technical information and support when requested by outside PSSR’s, Product Support Manager, Service Operations Manager, Technical Services, Rental and Sales Department and assists with review of projects at customer sites when needed. Due to the highly technical side of this position and the complexity of projects that may be included, Safety is of the upmost importance in the field. All projects will be evaluated upfront for safe conditions, and work environment Handles inquiries and questions regarding projects when requested by customer, dispatchers, Product Support Representatives, project coordinator and technicians as needed. Attend meetings as required for all upcoming project or to discuss status of progress on projects with the Sales and Product Support team and/or Service team for opportunities with the appropriate personnel. Assist Autonomy Manager in the development of new service offerings and accesses new business opportunities to expand our Construction, Mining, and Quarry & Aggregate business segments. Due to the technical complexity of this position, this position would be expected to assist in specific training in the Construction Division within Service, Sales and Rental Departments. This may include new processes, hands on training on products, systems and service offerings with the PSSR’s and technician support. Assist service department with technical and logistical issues on non-project repairs; research materials and solutions to replace/repair obsolete Cat and non-Cat componentry Assist Caterpillar with technical support, functionality and installation of new and existing CAT Technology Systems for Construction, Mining and Quarry & Aggregate Products. Assist non-Caterpillar with technical support, functionality and installation of connectivity products to enhance monitoring systems and offerings for Construction. Assist the Heavy Rents Department with rental solution designs in complex projects or set up. B. Project Administration/Management Assist Account Managers to review and define large project scopes for quoted jobs and/or turn-key projects to ensure accuracy in materials, labor, parts and miscellaneous items for accuracy to enter into the sales/service process. Reviews quote specifications and purchase accessories and miscellaneous components from Caterpillar or Non-Cat vendors as needed. Prepares detailed Technology Implementation plans to meet customer’s needs, coordinates deliveries to sites, and coordinates all outside vendors participating in project as needed. Coordinate with sales and rental departments for larger more complex projects for design, product needs, drawings and testing as needed. Updates team members as needed on projects for status changes or any complications that arise in the jobs. Assists with coordinating and scheduling of start-up of new projects, repairs, modifications and field testing of new products as needed to ensure quality deliverables to the customer. Assist in the preparation of submittals / RFPs & RFQs, manuals and “as built” drawings for larger complex projects as required with the assistance of document technician or service administrator. Gather infield data and perform onsite inspections and testing for Caterpillar DSN, Caterpillar Engineers, in addition to Warranty and Construction Technology related issues Specify, acquire, and review quotes from outside vendors to verify certifications and qualifications of contractors to perform scope of work on projects C. Design and Implementation Engineer Work with your team to design technology solution packages with new and used equipment to support the customers’ needs Assists with complete project execution when approved by customer or internally. Assists with quality control reviews of project once implementation is completed. D. Self-Improvement and Development Research and review all new product and sales literature to ensure current product knowledge Remains informed and inquiries about new project management tools, drawings, and other tools designed to enhance personal and departmental efficiency. Increase knowledge and credentials/certifications in specific service offerings to expand business opportunities. Remains up to date and certified on all regulations MSHA, etc. E. Special Projects Completes special projects assigned by management in a factual and timely manner. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Four-year engineering degree with and/or 2 to 5 years experience. Work Experience: Work experience in a technical field related to Remote Control, Autonomy, Machine/Grade Control, Wireless Networks, and Survey Systems projects, project managementwith direct accountability required Physical: Ability to travel periodically, with occasional overnight stays. Must be able to stand, stoop and climb for on-site inspections. Other: Possess valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record that meets company policy and guidelines. Possess knowledge of or quickly learns Caterpillar / Non-Caterpillar Technology Solutions and related equipment. Become familiar with on-site installations and equipment operations. PC exposure and operations required for Microsoft Word, Project Management, Power Point and Excel.. Must be able to provide security information needed to gain access to various secured sites as required by the customers with periodical background checks.
