About The Position

Serves as a key liaison between Synovus' business and technology teams, ensuring that our technology strategy serves our business objectives. Maintains a portfolio of initiatives, assisting with prioritization, and planning for demand and capacity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of business processes and technology, vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead project teams.
  • Superior analytical capabilities and the ability to manage a portfolio of projects and workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and history of approaching obstacles in a logical and analytical manner.
  • Demonstrated success in building credibility with peers and key stakeholders to drive action and change.
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making at all levels.
  • Strong organizational change management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in technology management, with a focus on portfolio management and strategic planning.
  • Experience in a Chief of Staff role is highly desirable.
  • Experience with governance frameworks and risk management.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean Six-Sigma practices.
  • Certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or portfolio management (PfMP).
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Technology leaders to develop and execute the technology strategy.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives and drive the implementation of key initiatives.
  • Identify emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the organization.
  • Oversee the technology portfolio, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio dashboard to provide visibility into project status, risks, and issues.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure effective decision-making and risk management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support technology initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular governance meetings to review project progress and address any challenges.
  • Serve as a liaison between the technology leadership team and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of technology initiatives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technology professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget.
  • Ensure financial resources are allocated effectively to support strategic priorities.
  • Track and report on budget performance, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and external partners.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure technology initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Develop and execute change management plans, including communication, training, and support activities.
