About The Position

The Technology Operations Associate provides operational and administrative support to the Technology team within a fast-paced Education Technology (EdTech) environment. This role bridges helpdesk coordination, procurement management, and compliance documentation, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective stakeholder and vendor relationships. The Technology Operations Associate reports to the Director, Information Technology.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional Experience:Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience providing administrative or operational support within a technology-driven environment.
  • Team-Driven: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across a variety of backgrounds and experiences; must be results-driven while maintaining a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
  • Mission Alignment: Passionate belief in academic excellence for every student, aligned with New Leaders' mission.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk systems (e.g., Salesforce, Jira Service Management, Confluence, etc.) and ticket tracking workflows.
  • Demonstrates comfort navigating modern IT tools, platforms, and procurement systems.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation, reporting, and vendor records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Travel may be required aligned to New Leaders’ Travel and In-Person Activities policy.
  • New Leaders requires each employee to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., at least two weeks have passed since the employee received the dose of a single-dose vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose vaccine with at least the minimum recommended interval between doses) or to obtain an approved exemption or reasonable accommodation through the Human Resources team within six weeks of their start date as a term and condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in education, nonprofit, or EdTech organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Zoom, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Basic understanding of compliance requirements (FERPA, COPPA, SOC 2, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT asset management, vendor lifecycle management, or procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming helpdesk tickets and provide direct technical support or routes toappropriate resources.
  • Respond to one-off staff inquiries and technology assistance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Track approval workflows such as external account access, user provisioning, and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) exceptions.
  • Monitor helpdesk queues to ensure tickets are resolved efficiently and documented accurately.
  • Assist with staff communications related to technology reminders, device instructions, or scheduled maintenance.
  • Create and submit procurement requests for hardware, software, and technology services.
  • Engage with internal teams to validate software license counts and confirm renewal requirements.
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices, purchase orders, and contract details to ensure accurate billing.
  • Manage ongoing vendor communications, including scheduling coordination and follow-ups.
  • Maintain procurement tracking logs and update software and asset inventory databases regularly.
  • Organize and update technology-related policies, guidelines, and documentation as directed.
  • Supports cross-departmental workstreams, including onboarding/offboarding refinements, data backup implementation, and record retention planning.
  • Coordinate technology timelines and dependencies with Legal, Finance, HR, and the external IT vendor.
  • Assistwith audits, compliance documentation, and risk mitigation initiatives asrequired.
  • Monitor asset renewal dates, alerting the Director, Information Technology when renewals require attention.
  • Prepare procurement requests based on provided templates or specifications.
  • Track equipment purchases, shipments, and deliveries for accuracy and timelines.
  • Update records of asset movements, software inventories, and device allocations.
  • Provide administrative support for internal communications, reminders, and team coordination.
  • Support the Technology team in documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
