About The Position

Responsible for long-range plan and coordination of the selection, procurement, maintenance, upgrading and repair of all technology hardware, software, and network in the district. Communicates with district and school personnel about long-range plans and status of technology in the district. Provides leadership for development and implementation of technology plan for the district. Manages the budget for district technology expenditures. Serves as district Technology Coordinator and liaison to Mississippi Department of Education technology staff. Supervises all district technology department personnel. Reviews and approves all applications for the Universal Service E-Rate program for the district and administers all grants received through the program. Researches and makes recommendations related to current and future trends in educational technology. Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, Computer Engineering, or related technology field.
  • Exhibits outstanding mastery of computer hardware, software and network utilization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with co-workers.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in technology or educational field.
  • Experience with technology in educational applications.
