About The Position

The Technology & Media Systems Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting networking infrastructure, electronics lab development, and podcast studio setup in a real-world STEM and creative technology environment. This role is designed as a workforce training opportunity that builds practical, job-ready skills in IT systems, electronics, audio/media technology, and technical troubleshooting. The intern will work closely with technical staff to support daily operations, assist with installations, and learn industry-standard tools and workflows used in IT support, electronics assembly, and media production environments.

Requirements

  • Interest in technology, electronics, IT, audio, or media production
  • Basic familiarity with computers or technical tools (training provided)
  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work hands-on
  • Ability to lift light equipment and work on one’s feet as needed
  • No prior professional experience required. This role is designed as a training and workforce-entry position.

Responsibilities

  • Networking & IT Support (Lobby & Facility)
  • Assist with basic networking tasks including Ethernet runs, cable management, labeling, and organization
  • Help install and configure network-connected devices (computers, access points, printers, AV equipment)
  • Support troubleshooting of connectivity issues
  • Learn fundamentals of small-scale network hardware and best practices
  • Electronics Lab Setup & Support
  • Assist with building out an electronics lab, including bench setup, tool organization, and safety practices
  • Help assemble and test basic electronic circuits and devices
  • Support inventory management of electronic components, tools, and lab equipment
  • Learn proper use of test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and soldering tools
  • Podcast Studio & Media Technology
  • Assist with setup and organization of podcast studio equipment (microphones, mixers, interfaces, headphones, etc.)
  • Help route and manage audio cabling and signal flow
  • Support basic recording, playback, and testing sessions
  • Learn fundamentals of audio signal flow, studio setup, and media production workflows
  • General Technical & Professional Skills
  • Follow safety procedures and technical documentation
  • Maintain organized workspaces and equipment logs
  • Communicate clearly with staff and team members
  • Develop problem-solving, troubleshooting, and time-management skills
