Requirements

  • At least six months of related experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Keep safety as a priority in the work environment.
  • Ability to successfully complete a skills assessment. (eTRAIN test)
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Own and maintain required personal tools.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to achieve MSHA certification.
  • Current Driver’s license.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

Nice To Haves

  • At least five years heavy equipment technician experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
  • Caterpillar work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair telematics devices and components.
  • Perform software updates and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external clients regarding the status of scheduled installations, repairs and hardware/software updates.
  • Install, trouble shoot, and repair telematics devices.
  • Perform hardware and software updates as necessary.
  • Perform intermediate level trouble shooting of digital and analog electronic components, electrical wiring and related mechanical systems.
  • Travel to client locations which may include construction, mining and landfill sites.
  • Prepare detailed service reports and submit to billing department in a timely manner.
  • Maintain company vehicle and equipment in optimal condition.
  • Uphold professional image that reflects positively on the company.
  • Travel out of town for days at a time and work evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
  • Work safely at all times.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ability to perform complex installations for two or more product lines.
  • Assist with training of new technicians.
  • Own and maintain required personal tools.
  • Learn and utilize company business systems for research, placing orders, and tracking job related activities.
  • Assist Technicians I and III with grade control installations as needed.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties as needed.
  • Schedule own work for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in service planner’s absence.
  • Develop client relations that enhance and inspire trust in the company brand.
  • Complete product specific training as instructed.
  • Maintain open communications with manager and peers.
  • Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions, solve technical related issues, or discuss scope and progress of job.
