Requirements
- At least six months of related experience in a similar role and environment.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
- Keep safety as a priority in the work environment.
- Ability to successfully complete a skills assessment. (eTRAIN test)
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Own and maintain required personal tools.
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Ability to achieve MSHA certification.
- Current Driver’s license.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
Nice To Haves
- At least five years heavy equipment technician experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
- Caterpillar work experience.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair telematics devices and components.
- Perform software updates and troubleshooting.
- Communicate regularly with internal and external clients regarding the status of scheduled installations, repairs and hardware/software updates.
- Install, trouble shoot, and repair telematics devices.
- Perform hardware and software updates as necessary.
- Perform intermediate level trouble shooting of digital and analog electronic components, electrical wiring and related mechanical systems.
- Travel to client locations which may include construction, mining and landfill sites.
- Prepare detailed service reports and submit to billing department in a timely manner.
- Maintain company vehicle and equipment in optimal condition.
- Uphold professional image that reflects positively on the company.
- Travel out of town for days at a time and work evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
- Work safely at all times.
- Adhere to all applicable safety policies.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
- Ability to perform complex installations for two or more product lines.
- Assist with training of new technicians.
- Own and maintain required personal tools.
- Learn and utilize company business systems for research, placing orders, and tracking job related activities.
- Assist Technicians I and III with grade control installations as needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties as needed.
- Schedule own work for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in service planner’s absence.
- Develop client relations that enhance and inspire trust in the company brand.
- Complete product specific training as instructed.
- Maintain open communications with manager and peers.
- Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions, solve technical related issues, or discuss scope and progress of job.
- Work within and promote corporate values.
