About The Position

JOB SUMMARY:Install, troubleshoot, and repair telematics devices and components. Perform software updates and troubleshooting. Communicate regularly with internal and external clients regarding the status of scheduled installations, repairs and hardware/software updates. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Install, trouble shoot, and repair telematics devices. Perform hardware and software updates as necessary. Perform intermediate level trouble shooting of digital and analog electronic components, electrical wiring and related mechanical systems. Travel to client locations which may include construction, mining and landfill sites.Prepare detailed service reports and submit to billing department in a timely manner. Maintain company vehicle and equipment in optimal condition. Uphold professional image that reflects positively on the company. Travel out of town for days at a time and work evenings and/or weekends as necessary.Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to perform complex installations for two or more product lines.Assist with training of new technicians. Own and maintain required personal tools. Learn and utilize company business systems for research, placing orders, and tracking job related activities. Assist Technicians I and III with grade control installations as needed. Follow standard operating procedures.Perform preventative maintenance duties as needed.Schedule own work for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in service planner’s absence. Develop client relations that enhance and inspire trust in the company brand. Complete product specific training as instructed. Maintain open communications with manager and peers. Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions, solve technical related issues, or discuss scope and progress of job.Work within and promote corporate values.

Requirements

  • Strong computer and phone skills to send emails/texts; use Microsoft Office applications; and access and search the internet.
  • Ability to utilize a laptop computer to access and maintain work order system, email, order parts, perform software updates, and locate installation and repair data, complete registry editing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical system diagrams in order to perform installations and repairs.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital sensors and their application and utilization to augment GPS data.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring on heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of multi-meter and ability to test for voltage, current, and continuity.
  • Knowledge of functionality and application of GPS and telematics devices.
  • Intermediate mechanical skills; knowledge of fabrication practices; and ability to use hand and portable power tools.
  • Adequate communication skills to schedule and explain repairs, maintenance, and updates to clients.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team oriented manner.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations, stay overnight, as well as work weekends and after hours.
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of XX years of experience with common automotive systems and equipment.
  • Ability to achieve MSHA certification.
  • Current Driver’s license.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
