As a Technology Engineer within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ or Dallas TX. PNC is seeking a Technology Engineer to join our DevOps Enablement Team supporting WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, and Windows IIS technologies. This role will contribute to ongoing modernization and automation efforts, including support of the on-going initiatives, provisioning needs, and enablement work across our CTO organization. The ideal candidate is hands on, collaborative, and comfortable working in an Agile environment. Job Description Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Assists with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions. Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives. May provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff. Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered. Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes. Requirements

  • Hands on experience with Ansible, Linux, and Python.
  • Agile team experience, including active participation in sprints and ceremonies.
  • Strong problem solving ability within complex, highly integrated environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering and pipeline teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure as code frameworks.
  • Experience supporting middleware technologies such as WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, or Windows IIS.
  • Background in platform engineering, DevOps automation, or CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Support the DevOps Enablement team focused on middleware technologies including WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, and Windows IIS.
  • Perform appliance builds, provisioning activities, and handle support tickets as part of day to day responsibilities.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible, Linux scripting, and Python.
  • Participate in on-going initiatives and other modernization efforts within CTO.
  • Collaborate within Agile teams, attending ceremonies and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with cross functional groups including pipeline teams, NAS teams, Change Engineering, SRC, and other CTO partner teams.
  • Drive quality, reliability, and efficiency in DevOps processes and tooling.
  • Assist in developing documentation, standards, and best practices for middleware platform engineering.
