Teaches skills, knowledge, standards, and competencies for courses related to technology/STEM education (engineering, robotics, CAD) to students utilizing the curriculum approved by the local school division, VDOE, and/or national technology education associations/industries. Plans and implements instruction within a technology education program that entails lecture, demonstrations, project based learning, and hands-on-learning experiences within a theory classroom and laboratory setting. Ensures that instruction has a strong alignment with real world learning leading to a student’s participation in industry credentialing. Plans and delivers instruction and activities that assists all students with being college and career ready. Instructs students in the safe and the proper use of related tools, equipment, and materials. Ensures safe storage of related items and materials. Provides instruction to students within a diverse learning environment with a range of varied learning abilities that includes high ability learners and/or gifted. Facilitates the learning process as the students carry out self-initiated/guided projects. Participates in the sponsorship of applicable career and technical student organization activities and student competitions (local, state, or national) Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
