Technology/Data Support Specialist ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Baccalaureate or Associates degree preferred, with additional training in computer / technology / database operations. Minimum of two years employment experience in computer technology, systems administration, and operating procedures. Proficiency in MS operating systems & Microsoft Office 2003 - Current Year Familiarity with Microsoft SQL 2000 database administration in an enterprise environment. Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision, exercise sound, thoughtful, independent judgment. Must possess good problem solving, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, community members, and students to maintain and strengthen sound human relations for the improvement of the school program. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: Perform daily monitoring of the district's SQL environment and address problems in a timely and efficient manner. Serve as a liaison with vendors and outside consultants in installing, maintaining, and improving existing and new applications involving database technologies. Assist district staff with data reporting. Assist the technology staff in various application training sessions when needed. Communicate with all technology system users regarding information systems activities and procedures, thereby establishing an environment that encourages creative and independent use of technology and application programs. Remain up-to-date and knowledgeable with regard to the district's overall data flow and user access. Perform front desk functions in the district's technology office and assist visitors and staff accordingly. Participate in in-service training program as directed by supervisor. Implement the professional improvement plans as specified in the observation and/or evaluation reports. Perform, as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee, additional or alternate duties that may add to the effectiveness of the education program of the Teaneck Public Schools.
